Centegra Health System Announces Plans for the Centegra Sage Women's Pavilion

Centegra Health System Announces Plans for the Centegra Sage Women's Pavilion
The Centegra Sage Women’s Pavilion will provide the women of McHenry County with comprehensive, specialized, coordinated healthcare in one location.

Sage Products, a healthcare product corporation based in Cary, donated $2.5 million to the project.

"Women have unique health needs beyond obstetrics over the span of our lives," said Angela McAuley, Senior Vice President of Centegra Women’s Services, at the site’s unveiling ceremony in June. "This center will address the needs of women through all stages of their lives."

The 77,500-square-foot center will provide state-of-the-art labor, delivery and recovery facilities, high-risk nursery care for seriously ill infants, prenatal and high-risk pregnancy services, an enhanced breast care center, advanced imaging and diagnostic equipment, an oncology spa and support services, a Continence and Pelvic Disorders Clinic, a Center for Optimal Health and Wellness, wellness and heart risk assessments, and education and community outreach programs.

"This will be a sanctuary for women in our community," said McAuley.

"Women will no longer have to leave the county to get the services they need," said Heidi Kramer, a breast cancer survivor who shared her difficulties with getting a wig during chemotherapy.

Construction of the Centegra Sage Women’s Pavilion will begin in the fall of 2009.

The Centegra Health System Foundation will host the Annual Centegra Golf Classic on August 5 at Geneva National Golf Club in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Proceeds from the event will go toward the Centegra Sage Women’s Pavillion.
