Gulgren Appliance Celebrates 50 Years in Crystal Lake.

In the spring of 1959, brothers Leroy and Gene Gulgren opened their appliance store in Crystal Lake. Since then, the family-owned-and-operated appliance sales and service center has served residents of McHenry County.

Today, brothers-in-law Mike Gulgren and Greg Danielson own and manage the business, which was expanded in 2008 to more than 5,000 square feet of showroom space and a 7,200 square foot, heated warehouse. Gulgren’s in-house sales, delivery, installation, service and parts departments make them the county’s only full-service appliance center.
