Paul Hyland Salon & Day Spa Turns 25

Paul Hyland Salon & Day Spa (318 Memorial Drive in Crystal Lake) is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

Owners Paul and wife Shelly Hyland launched the business in 1984 with a small, three-chair salon and three employees. As the county and their clientele grew, the Hylands followed with several moves and expansions. In 2007, they expanded to the current location in Crystal Lake, featuring a comfortably upscale decor with 12 styling stations, two treatment rooms and a nail/pedicure suite. “We credit our success to a wonderful, talented staff and the support of the McHenry County community,” the Hylands said. The salon will run promotions September 21-26.

Today, the Arts Park is in its infancy. Officially opened on July 4, 2005, it is owned and operated by a the non-profit Lakeside Legacy Foundation, formed for the purpose of preservation, protection, and enhancement of the property. The vision: become a world-class arts education center.
