The Nutcracker

The Nutcracker
The Christmas tradition returns to the Raue Center for the Arts.

For the second consecutive year, the Raue Center for the Arts in downtown Crystal Lake will present the Berkshire Ballet Theatre’s performance of “The Nutcracker.”

The Crystal Lake ballet company will feature their local dancers, children and adults, as well as professional dancers from Miami and New York.
“Every town deserves a ‘Nutcracker’ or ‘Christmas Carol,’” said Richard Kuranda, executive director at the Raue.
Kuranda says the audience will be in awe of the performers, costumes and lighting. He calls the production a spectacle. With the success of last year’s inaugural production, the Raue has increased the number of shows for this year and has already sold most of their group sales.
“People who come out will not only be supporting their own, they’ll be wowed by their own,” said Kuranda. Catch a showing December 18 at 7 p.m., December 19 at 7 p.m. or December 20 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. To order tickets, call the Raue box office at 815-356-9212 or visit 26 N. Williams St. in downtown Crystal Lake.
