Fun Spots on the Fox
Where better to enjoy dinner and drinks, live music, sports and more than on the sparkling Fox River? By water or by land, check out these river destinations for your next summer outing.

 

Broken Oar

Crowd Pleasers: Huge outdoor seating, bar and stage, biker friendly, small beach. Tuesday car shows; Wednesdays wakeboard lessons, bike and jet ski demos, etc.

Munchies: Royal Ruben (half and full – picture with completion of the full!); and one-pound Broken Burger (picture with completion).  

Drinks: “World Famous” Mai Tai, and new this summer – rum runners.  

 

Castaways at Sunset Bay Port & Grill

Crowd Pleasers: Outdoor seating, private parties, Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons feature live music from Jim Sieg on the deck, SeaWings seaplanes flying lessons.

Crowd Pleasers: 5,000-square-foot, multi-level riverside patio and deck area, nightly entertainment, party boat rental, sports bar, arcade games – plus, the restaurant uses a wind-powered turbine to generate some of its electricity!

Munchies: Daily food specials, including Friday fish fry (Lake perch); Saturday top sirloin and shrimp; and Sunday country fried chicken.

Drinks: Specials Monday through Thursday, including: Sunday Absolut AntiPasto Bloody Marys with Miller chasers; Wednesday Long Islands and Thursday Sauza Tequila margaritas.

Here at Lakeside Legacy Arts Park you can step back to a simpler time to explore the craftsmanship and unexpected brilliance of a Civil War era architectural masterpiece - the historic Dole Mansion. The Dole guarantees to stop you in your tracks with its intricate wood carvings, dazzling parquet floors and stunningly beautiful grand staircase.

Today, the Arts Park is in its infancy. Officially opened on July 4, 2005, it is owned and operated by a the non-profit Lakeside Legacy Foundation, formed for the purpose of preservation, protection, and enhancement of the property. The vision: become a world-class arts education center.
