Holiday Donation Programs Launched
Fisher Outreach Group Inc. of Crystal Lake, which has hosted giving programs for more than 20 years, has launched the following holiday programs to help community members in need. Please help if you can and share this with others who might be interested in helping!
Adopt-a-Grandparent (Dec. 9 deadline): This amazing program provides holiday gifts to McHenry County low income seniors and senior veterans, many who do not have a family or friend support group. They provide us with a list of their holiday wishes and we work with the community to make them come true. The lists below are made up of the most needed items and the specific request from each senior. Drop off/deliver to 8600 US Hwy 14, Suite 106A, Crystal Lake, Il. 60012 (lower level). Drop off hours are Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.; and Fridays 8 a.m.-noon. Alternate drop off days and time are available upon request.
Winter Gear Collection for Homeless Veterans: Winter Gear Collection for Homeless Veterans: We are currently collecting items that are so needed by our homeless veterans, such as clean, non ripped sleeping bags, good condition warm winter coats, hats, thick warm gloves, new long underwear (men's sizes), new socks (men's), hand-warmers, can openers, flashlights, AA batteries, small canned foods and snack size treats/granola bars/chips, etc..
