The Duchess had always been a mystery... Rarely seen outside her home and unbeknownst to anyone, she secretly constructed a sprawling estate within The Arboretum of South Barrington during its early development. 

But over time, isolation took its toll. The Duchess slowly unraveled, descending into madness. She began hearing voices in the walls, accusing glances from mirrors, and scratching sounds beneath the floorboards. Then, she barricaded herself inside and began to rot in darkness alive, but not sane.
